Evansville, Ind.- The Evansville Otters have won 2 straight games and won 2 out of 3 in the 3 game series against the Joliet Slammers. In the second game against the Slammers, the Otters would end the 2-2 tie after Chris Sweeney became the hero once again to hit a 3-run homer to take the lead into the bottom of the 8th inning. Tyler Thompson was given the win on the night to move his record to 1-1 on the season. Randy McCurry was brought in the game in the 9th to close the Slammers out. McCurry now has 4 saves on the season. In the third game of the series Tyler Vail was starting on the mound. Vail pitched for 6 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 runs and had 6 strikeouts. Vail recieved the win and moved his record to 1-1 on the season. For the Slammers, Kaleb Ort started on the mound and pitched for 2.2 innings allowing 7 hits, 8 runs and had only 1 strikeout.
