EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Evansville Otters kicked off the 2017 season Saturday at Bosse Field with a Fan Fest sponsored by Action Equipment that included instruction from pitching coach Max Peterson and hitting coach Bobby Segal. “Excited that the season is coming around,” Peterson said. “It gets the community involved.” Local signees Conner Porter (Castle) and Wade McNabb (Memorial) also provided instruction and they took time to meet fans throughout the event. “A lot of kids showed up so it’s good for the community,” Porter said. “It’s a really great opportunity.” Fans also took self-guided tours of Bosse Field and posed with the Frontier Cup. The event coincided with the first day of single game ticket sales. Evansville will open the regular season in Marion, Ill. May 12 against the Southern Illinois Miners at 7:05 p.m. and will celebrate Bosse Field’s Opening Night May 19 against the Gateway Grizzlies at 6:35 p.m. The Evansville Otters are the 2006 and 2016 Frontier League champions.
