Otters Blast Three Home Runs in Win Over Joliet

JOLIET, Ill.– The Evansville Otters hit three home runs, including two from Alejandro Segovia, in their 12-3 win over Joliet. Evansville (6-4) opened their series against Joliet (3-7) tallying seven hits. John Schultz hit his second home run of the year, a three run shot, as part of a five-run sixth inning. Max Duval picked up his first win of the season. Duval surrendered just one hit, a home run to the Slammers Juan Silva that scored two runs in the third inning. Duval struck out 10 batters while issuing just three walks to bring his record to 1-1. Evansville wasted no time scoring four runs in the first inning. A Jeff Gardner two RBI double scored Josh Allen and Dane Phillips. Alejandro Segovia scored his first of three runs on the day on a wild pitch from Joliet starter Danny Concepcion. Chris Riopedre drove Gardner home on a single to make it 4-0. Silva hit his two run home run in the third inning that scored Steven Pollakov who was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. It would be all Otters until the bottom of the eighth inning. Evansville scored five more runs in the sixth inning.…
