Normal CornBelters Sign Neil Kozikowski

NORMAL, Illinois (February 28, 2018) – The CornBelters have signed pitcher Neil Kozikowski to their 2018 Frontier League roster. The 6-foot-2-inch right-hander from Burlington, Connecticut comes to Normal to continue his professional career which started when he was drafted out of high school by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft during the 8th round (239th Overall). Kozikowski finished his first season with the Gulf Coast League Pirates pitching 24 innings with a 1-1 record while posting a 2.63 ERA. Spending a total of four seasons in the Pirates organization Kozikowski finished with a 5-8 record with a 4.94 ERA. He also tallied one save over a span of 140.1 innings pitched. Manager Billy Horn is eager to see Kozikowski take the mound for the CornBelters. “Neil is a former 8th round pick in the MLB Draft who has an array of pitches in his arsenal. We’re looking at the 2018 season to get him back to an organization after missing the 2017 season.
