Normal CornBelters add Pascual Santiago to Coaching Staff

NORMAL, Illinois (March 2, 2018) – The CornBelters have added Pascual Santiago to their coaching staff for the 2018 season. Santiago is no stranger to the Frontier League as he previously served as a pitching coach for the Joliet Slammers. In 2017, Santiago managed the Old Orchard Beach Surge of the Empire League located in Maine. There he led the team to the Empire League Championship series and was awarded Manager of the Year. Starting his coaching career in 2002, Santiago served as an assistant coach with Lewis University Flyers. Santiago then moved to a pitching coach role with Moraine Valley Community College and Olive Harvey City College. Santiago accepted an associate head coach and hitting coach position for Robert Morris University, where he contributed to a conference championship. Santiago made the transition from college to the Independent leagues starting out as a pitching coach with the Windy City Thunderbolts. After his stint with Windy City, Santiago moved to Gary SouthShore RailCats for three seasons winning the American Association Championship in 2013 serving as an assistant/first base coach.
