The Southern Illinois Miners announce their schedule for the 2017 season, returning for their 11th season at Rent One Park in Marion. To view the team’s schedule, click HERE or visit www.southernillinoisminers.com Coming off of a successful 10th season in 2016 in which they compiled their third straight 60+ win campaign as well as their third consecutive division title, the Miners will play a full slate of 48 home games at Rent One Park beginning on Opening Night,Friday, May 12th vs Evansville at 7:05 p.m. Six of their first eight games will be at home, with the schedule also featuring nine “Fireworks Friday” home dates throughout the season. The Miners’ full promotional schedule will be announced at a later date, and will include brand new promotional nights never experienced at Rent One Park before. The “Whole New Ballgame” will take on another level this season. Among some of the many new promotions, Jose Canseco, the “Bad Boy of Baseball,” will be in Marion and will be part of a Home Run Derby with fans. Internet sensation Domingo Ayala will also come to Rent One Park to do his unique hysterical baseball clinic for kids. Both will include autograph and photo sessions.
