LUDY, KENNEDY RETURN: RIVER CITY RASCALS TRANSACTION UPDATE

The River City Rascals have continued their off-season moves at a rapid pace by pulling off eight more contract extensions in the last month, making it 16 players returning from the 2016 Frontier League Championship runner-up. Eighth year Manager Steve Brook has also added a pair of position players who will be getting their first taste of Frontier League baseball: outfielder Taylor Love and shortstop Ian Yetsko. Three-time Frontier League All-Star and former Baylor Bear standout Josh Ludy headlines the set of returners as he begins his fourth go-around with the club and second as a player-coach. In his Rascals career, Ludy has held a .297 average while smacking 35 home runs and driving in 157 runs during 252 games. The catcher/designated hitter has had at least 45 RBI in each season and in 2016 he set a career high in hits with 98. The lone player on the Rascals who has played more seasons with the club than Ludy is veteran right-handed pitcher Nick Kennedy. Kennedy has put on a Rascals uniform every summer since 2012 and is coming off a season where he has held an ERA under 3.00 for the third time in his career. The right-hander…
