Landsheft (Windy City) and Thomas (Evansville) Earn Weekly Awards

Evansville’s Toby Thomas and Windy City’s Will Landsheft were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Toby Thomas earned his honor this week by posting a .500 batting average in 24 at bats with three doubles and two homeruns, he drove in six while also scoring six. The right handed hitting shortstop helped lead the Evansville Otters to a 4-2 record over their last six games. Prior to joining the Evansville Otters, Toby has spent the past five years playing in the Chicago White Sox organization. Toby a 21st round draft pick by the White Sox our of Pensacola Junior College has traveled from rookie ball to double-A while in the White Sox organization. Last year he split time between Double-A Birmingham and High-A Winston-Salem. While in the White Sox organization Toby batted .263 with 100 doubles, 19 triples, 21 homeruns, 11 stolen bases and 165 runs batted in.
