KRAUS SHUTS OUT THUNDERBOLTS

Crestwood, Ill. – The Florence Freedom, presented by Titan Mechanical Solutions, rode Jordan Kraus’ two-hit shutout to a 3-0 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts. In the Freedom’s second shutout of the series, Kraus scattered just three base runners in his complete game. No Windy City (27-30) player reached second base as Kraus allowed two hits and one walk, while striking out six. The Freedom (24-33) scored first in the second inning. Josh Henderson led off the inning with a walk and Isaac Wenrich put two in scoring position with a double. Mason Salazar came up next and knocked a groundout to the right side, allowing Henderson to cross the plate. As Kraus continued to roll, the Freedom added two more in the fifth. Salazar launched his first career home run to left field, putting the Freedom ahead 2-0. After a one-out walk from Daniel Fraga, Taylor Oldham posted his eighth RBI in six games with a double down the left-field line. Oldham finished the six-game road trip 14-for-24 with five doubles, a triple, two home runs, five runs, and eight RBIs. Kraus also benefitted from some great defensive work from Daniel Fraga.
