CRESTWOOD, IL- The Traverse City Beach Bums’(39-47) and the Windy City Thunderbolts(36-51), for the second straight night, received great starting pitching, this time from John Havird and Eddie Avila, but it was Traverse City picking up the win tonight by a final score of 3-2. Orlando Rivera took the very first pitch of the game into left field for a lead-off single. Isaac Benard drove him home as he sliced a double to the left field corner for an early 1-0 Bums lead. In the sixth, Derek Bangert tied the game on an RBI single then Matt Brown drew a bases-loaded walk to give the Thunderbolts a 2-1 advantage. Ryan Kemp led off the eighth inning with a walk then moved to second on a successful sacrifice bunt by Alec Olund. Orlando Rivera grounded out, moving Kemp to third and Isaac Benard walk. Will Kengor then ripped an opposite field double that short-hopped the left field wall, scoring both Kemp and Benard, giving the Beach Bums the lead for good.
