JOSH LUDY RETURNING AS RASCALS’ HITTING COACH

As a new Rascals season approaches, changes on the roster follow. The 2018 roster will feature many returning players – including one that fans were not expecting. Josh Ludy, former Frontier League All-Star catcher, will serve as the new Rascals’ Hitting Coach during the 2018 season alongside manager Steve Brook and assistant coach Alex Ferguson. Ludy has been the catcher for the Rascals for the past four seasons and has since proven his capabilities as a player and more importantly, as a team leader. Ludy helped guide the Rascals to two Frontier League Championships in 2014, with a batting average of .362, 16 homeruns, and 50 RBI’s, and in 2015 with 15 homeruns and 56 RBI’s. Ludy ended his final season of Frontier League eligibility with a .288 batting average, 7 homeruns, and 49 RBI’s. Josh started his playing career with Baylor University of the Big 12. His last season with the Bears was highlighted with a .362 batting average, 16 homeruns, and 71 RBI’s. In 2012, Ludy was drafted in the 8th round (278th overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies, whom he played for for three seasons, ending with a batting average of .255, 2 homeruns, and 20 RBI’s.
