Frontier League to Begin Long-Awaited Return with Season Opener Tonight (May 27, 2021, Sauget, IL) – The Frontier League of Professional Baseball opens its 28th season today as all 14 teams compete across much of the US from the suburbs of Chicago to the suburbs of New York City. After an entire season lost to the global pandemic, the 2021 Frontier League season marks a celebratory return with the added excitement of playing its first season as an official Partner League of Major League Baseball. The league has sold the contracts of over 1,000 professional players total to all 30 Major League teams since its inception, including nearly 20 contracts during spring training before the first pitch of the 2021 season.
