FRONTIER LEAGUE EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH CALIFORNIA WINTER LEAGUE

PALM SPRINGS, CA – The California Winter League and Frontier League are proud to announce that they will be extended the two-year agreement through the 2017 and 2018 seasons. For the past two years the California Winter League has the Official Winter League of the Frontier League. The Frontier League will have a presence in the California Winter League by having their managers and coaches provide instruction while also having the rights to sign players out of the CWL. The Frontier League will continue to reserve spots on their spring training rosters for players specifically out of the CWL. Despite having the minimum requirement, the Frontier League has exceeded those totals and has signed 94 players from the CWL through the first two years of the agreement. The California Winter League’s General Manager, Pete Wagoner had this to say about the agreement, “The California Winter League (CWL) is excited to continue our working relationship with the Frontier League. The success achieved in the first two years of the agreement made this an easy decision. We look forward to continuing to grow with the longest-running independent professional baseball league while providing the best opportunity for players to advance their careers.” The California Winter…
