Frontier League Announces 2017 Season Awards

SAUGET, Ill. – On Thursday, the Frontier League announced its awards for the 2017 Season. This season’s awards are headlined by Schaumburg outfielder, David Harris for The Morgan Burkhart Award for Most Valuable Player Award and former Evansville starting pitcher Max Duval (now in Marlins organization) with the Brian Tollberg award for Pitcher of the Year award. The Jason Simontacchi award for Rookie of the Year goes to Evansville’s Kyano Cummings. The Schaumburg Boomers have been selected as Organization of the Year. Steve Gomric of the Gateway Grizzlies was awarded the Bob Wolf Executive of the Year award. The Morgan Burkhart Most Valuable Player Award goes to David Harris of the Schaumburg Boomers. Harris is in his first season with the Frontier League. He has been a great member of the Boomers after spending 2013 to 2017 in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. The 6’0 outfielder has been selected as Player of the Week twice this season. The Houston, Texas native is batting .340 on the year with three games remaining in the regular season. Harris has scored fifty-four runs and hit for twelve doubles, a triple, thirteen home runs, sixty-four RBI and has twelve stolen bases. David was also…
