SAUGET, Ill. – The 25th season of the Frontier League has wrapped up its first full week of action and Cody Gray of the Florence Freedom and Seth Spivey of the Schaumburg Boomers have been named 2017, Week 2 Pitcher and Player of the Week as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation Cody Gray, a Glendale Arizona native, tossed his way to a 9-0 shutout as the Freedom traveled to Normal to take on the CornBelters in a 3 game series this past weekend. Though Gray only pitched one game in the week, he made his lone start a memorable one by going 7 innings (complete game, double header) while only allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Gray enters his 3rd season with the Frontier League as a pitcher for the Florence Freedom. With having just 2 appearances this season, Gray is currently sitting at a 2-0 record with a 0.75 ERA (tied 2nd in the league), with 12 innings pitched, 9 Strikeouts, 3 walks and 8 hits.
