FORMER BOULDER JUSTIN TOPA CALLED UP BY MILWAUKEE

The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Monday that former Rockland Boulder had his contract selected from their alternate training site. Topa will be in uniform as #56 when the Brewers host the Detroit Tigers tonight. A native of Binghamton, New York, Topa was a 17th round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Long Island University-Brooklyn. Topa spent four seasons with the Pirates’ organization before signing with the Boulders. He spent the entire 2017 season in Rockland and returned for 2018 before being signed by the Texas Rangers and assigned to their Double-A affiliate, the Frisco RoughRiders. Topa signed with Milwaukee for the 2019 season, in which he posted a 3.38 ERA over 40 appearances for the Carolina Mudcats and Biloxi Shuckers. Topa will be making his MLB debut with the Brewers.
