The Washington Wild Things announced Monday that OF David Popkins has been traded to the Rockland Boulders in exchange for OF Quinnton Mack and RHP Joe Ravert. “It has truly been a pleasure to be a part of the Washington Wild Things. I want to thank the fans for all the support. I would also like to thank our incredible coaching staff and the Wild Things’ organization. I wish them the best of luck going forward. Go Thangs!” David Popkins wrote in a statement. Popkins has been a staple in the Wild Thing’s offense the past two seasons, smashing 35 home runs and driving in 94 RBI. “David has been a great asset to the Wild Things the past two seasons. We knew it was important for us to find him the ideal landing spot to continue his career, once it was determined he could not return to Washington for a third season,” noted Wild Things’ General Manager, Steven Zavacky. In return for Popkins, the Wild Things acquire OF Quinnton Mack and RHP Joe Ravert from the Boulders.
