Evansville Otters’ infielder Chris Breen and Southern Illinois Miners’ starting pitcher Rick Teasley were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Breen, in his first season in the Frontier League as a member of the Evansville Otters, recorded at least one hit in each of his team’s six games this week. This is the second week in a row that an Otters player has received this accomplishment as Player of the Week, last week was Nik Balog. To start off the week, Breen went 3-4 against the rascals, with a home run, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored. He then followed that performance with a 3-3 night on Saturday, with 1 double, and 1 run scored. Sunday, Breen wen 4-5, with 1 RBI, which brought his season batting average up to .378 with 3 RBI, 1 home run, 4 doubles, and 6 runs scored. Before joining the Frontier League, Breen spent time in the South Atlantic League, Gulf Coast League, and New-York Pennsylvania League with the Yankees organization.
