ÉQUIPE QUÉBEC SELECTS LHP NICK HORVATH WITH FIRST PICK OF 2021 FRONTIER LEAGUE DRAFT

With the first overall pick of Tuesday’s 2021 Frontier League Draft, Équipe Québec selected twenty-four-year-old left-handed pitcher Nick Horvath. Horvath played at the University Florida and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 25th round of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft. He then played for Baltimore affiliates Aberdeen and Delmarva, and then joined the Joliet Slammers last year in the City of Champions Cup. “We like his resume,” noted Québec manager Patrick Scalabrine. “He’s a good left-handed pitcher, with good velocity. He also addresses a team need for us. Overall, he’s a good-looking kid.” When asked about his journey to this point, Horvath mentioned the importance of his experience in the game. “My past experience is everything.
