AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, scored four times in the eighth inning to snap a six-game losing streak on Wednesday night at Sprenger Health Care Stadium, as they defeated the Washington Wild Things, 6-3. The win for the Crushers (14-21) brought their longest losing streak of the season to a close, while the loss for the Wild Things (18-16) snapped a three-game winning streak against the Crushers. The Crushers took their first lead of the series by scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Sean Hurley started the inning with an infield single, before advancing to second after Josh McAdams was walked. Connor Oliver followed by blasting a RBI double to right, scoring Hurley in the process to give the Crushers a 1-0 lead. Moments later, McAdams scored on Tanner Lubach’s sac fly RBI. Washington responded with a run in the top of the third. John Fidanza recorded Washington’s first hit, after Payton Lobdell retired the first seven batters he faced.
