CRUSHERS SNAP FIVE GAME LOSING STREAK

AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, snapped a five-game losing streak on Wednesday morning with a 4-3 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners at All Pro Freight Stadium. For the Crushers (30-37) the victory not only snapped a five-game losing streak, but also a four-game slide at home, marking their first home victory since July 10. The loss for the Miners (45-22) was their third over their last five games on their current road trip. After being held to just three hits on Tuesday night, the Crusher offense turned things around with nine hits on Wednesday morning, and received a strong start from Steve Hagen to snap their losing streak. Lake Erie struck first, scoring a trio of runs on three hits in the bottom of the first inning. Newly acquired Robb Paller started the inning with a five pitch walk, and made his way to third on a double off the bat of Sean Hurley. Connor Oliver followed with a RBI single to right to score Paller, giving Lake Erie a 1-0 lead.
