Lake Erie Crushers Manager Cam Roth is optimistic the team will have the talent to make a run towards the post-season and possibly a Frontier League title. “There’s no doubt we will have the Players to challenge for the league title this season”, Roth stated. “The core of our pitching staff is back with Steve Hagen, Connor Reed, Josh Heddinger and Juan Caballero, anchoring the rotation. We’re also very excited about new acquisition Diego Ibarra, as the team’s possible fifth starter. Chandler Jagodzinski has the potential to be the best closer in the league, so pitching should be the strength of the team in 2017.” Roth also pointed to the team’s strength through the middle of the diamond with returning starters Catcher Bryan De La Rosa, Center Fielder Connor Oliver and middle Infielder Max Casper. They’ll be joined by new acquisition Jordan Dean at 2nd base. “Jordan Dean is one year removed from a spectacular season, and has been working extremely hard this winter. I think he will fit in nicely in the middle of our defense with De La Rosa, Casper and Oliver.” The Crushers open training camp at the newly named Sprenger Health Care Stadium on April 27th.…
