CRUSHERS LOOK TO CAPITALIZE ON STRONG FINISH

The Lake Erie Crushers head in to 2017 very optimistic and with a lot of new talent. The Crushers ended their 2016 campaign on a strong finish, winning 15 of their final 21 games down the stretch and missing the playoffs by just one game. Director of Baseball Operations Cam Roth is spending the winter bolstering the roster and scouring the country in search of additional talent to bring home the hardware in 2017. “We have a lot of talented Players returning next season, so the cupboard is far from bare” said Roth. “But in this league, you’re constantly looking to upgrade, and get the right 24 guys that can bring home a title.” Some of the new faces Crusher fans will see in 2017 include new signee Jordan Dean, formerly of the Schaumburg Boomers. Dean, a second baseman/shortstop, hit .256 last season, but is just one year removed from a .317 average and Frontier League All-Star appearance. Left handed hitting First Baseman Alex Fink, from Augustana University in South Dakota, will join the Crushers in 2017.
