CRESTWOOD, Ill. – The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, were unable to finish game three against the Windy City ThunderBolts due to rain on Thursday night. The Crushers (16-25) held a 2-0 lead over the ThunderBolts (22-20) when the game was suspended. Both teams went scoreless in the first two innings before the Crushers broke open the scoring in the third. Austin O’Brien singled to lead off the frame, and a two-out walk to L.J. Kalawaia put men on first and second. After a wild pitch advanced both runners into scoring position, Jordan Dean cracked a two-run single into left center, but he was caught trying to take second on the throw home. Brandon Murray continue the rally with a two-out single, and the game was called before Sean Hurley got his opportunity at the plate. The Crushers return to Sprenger Health Care Stadium for a 12-game homestand, beginning with a weekend series against the Schaumburg Boomers. Juan Caballero (1-1, 5.52) is scheduled to make the start in game one. The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, and 2011 Frontier League Organization of the year, play ball at Sprenger Health Care Stadium, a 5,000 capacity stadium located…
