TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(11-11) used an 18 hit attack to outscore the Gateway Grizzlies(5-17), by a final score of 9-1. Gateway got on the board in the first with an RBI double by Blake Brown but the Beach Bums scored three in the bottom of the inning and didn’t look back. Jeff DeBlieux led off with a single then Arby Fields moved him to second with a sacrifice bunt. Steven Patterson drove in DeBlieux with a base hit to center, tying the game. After Will Kengor moved Patterson to third with a ground-out, he scored on an RBI single by Alexis Rivera. Elijah Trail followed with a single then Kendall Patrick hit an RBI single to close out the scoring in the inning. In the second, DeBlieux doubled to right with one out and Fields drove him in with a single. The Bums added another run In the third when Giancarlo Brugnoni doubled, moved to third on a Ryan Garvey infield hit, then scored on another Fields RBI single, making it a 5-1 Traverse City lead.
