CALIFORNIA WINTER LEAGUE INKS AGREEMENT TO BECOME EXCLUSIVE WINTER LEAGUE OF THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The California Winter League and the Frontier League announced today an agreement making the California Winter League the Exclusive Winter League of the Frontier League. The multiyear agreement also stipulates that each Frontier League team will take two CWL players to spring training each season. A similar stipulation has been in place since 2015 and each year, the Frontier League has exceeded that requirement, typically signing over 40 CWL players per season. We believe this agreement will help players make the best decision about the path that they want to take in professional baseball,” said CWL President Andrew Starke. “The goal of this agreement is to strengthen the relationship between two first class leagues, the Frontier League and the California Winter League. Hopefully this agreement will help players make an easier decision when deciding how they want to go about pursuing professional baseball,” added CWL General Manager Justin Reschke.
