TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums’(22-29) completed a three-game sweep against the Windy City Thunderbolts(24-27), taking the Sunday evening series finale by the final score of 11-6. The Beach Bums have won four in a row and have won four of their last five series. Windy City got the game off to a roaring start when Ransom Lalonde hit a two-run single to center to take an early lead. The Bums responded right away in the bottom of the first. Marco Derkes led off with a walk, followed by a Ryan Bottger single. Both runners moved up on a well-executed sacrifice bunt by Steven Patterson. Will Kengor got them on the board with a sacrifice fly, scoring Derkes. Elijah Trail then tied the game on an RBI single, bringing Bottger in. After Giancarlo Brugnoni singled, Christian Santisteban spun a slow roller up the third base line. The ‘Bolts catcher tried to make the play to first but it was late and Trail was able to score, giving the Bums a 3-2 after one. Traverse City added on to the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Bottger walked and later scored on a throwing error.…
