BOULDERS ADD STAC’S CEPEDA, THREE OTHERS TO ROSTER

The New York Boulders did not need to look too far for the latest addition to their pitching staff with the recent signing of former St. Thomas Aquinas College standout Chris Cepeda to the roster for their initial season in the Frontier League. The club also announced that it had come to an agreement with former St. Louis Cardinals’ farmhand Zach Kirtley, an infielder, and Brandon Bingel, a righthanded reliever who was once the property of the Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as resigning lefthanded reliever James Mulry. Cepeda, a 24-year-old righthander, is projected to be one of manager T.J. Stanton’s starters this coming season. A native of Port Jefferson Station on Long Island and a graduate of Ward-Melville High School, Cepeda spent one spring, 2016, at Dowling College, where he went 7-1 with a 3.03 ERA.
