WASHINGTON, PA —The East Division champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, used a late rally to claim win number 62 on the season, sweeping the Lake Erie Crushers, 6-5 the final. With the win, the Schaumburg Boomers established a new record for wins in a regular season. Starting off well, the Boomers tallied up runs in each of the first two innings. Kyle Ruchim led off with a single and came around to score on a Rock Should RBI single. Then in the second, Jack Parenty drove in Tanner Pinkston with a run-scoring ground out. In the fifth, Lake Erie got on the board with a solo homer from Austin O’Brien to lead off the frame. Connor Sullivan followed with an RBI double before Jordan Dean smacked a two run homer. Crushers added another in the sixth on a sac fly from Sullivan. Boomers went to work in the sixth, scoring twice. Shoulders with a solo homer to lead off, then Zach Weigel scored on an RBI ground out after tripling earlier in the inning.
