A pair of walk-off wins, a doubleheader sweep, and the first clinch of a playoff spot were the highlights from Monday’s Labor Day slate. Get caught up on a jam-packed day: After a walk-off single to defeat the Evansville Otters 5-4 and a loss by second-place Windy City, the Schaumburg Boomers clinched the Central Division title to secure a return to the playoffs. Evansville opened a 2-0 lead in the second after an RBI double by Elijah MacNamee and a wild pitch that later scored him. Schaumburg’s Luke Becker scored on a wild pitch in the bottom half to make it 2-1. The next inning, Chase Dawson hit a groundout that scored a run to tie it at 2-2.
