SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Keenyn Walker’s three-run double in the top of the 11th inning broke a 2-2 tie and delivered the ThunderBolts a 5-2 win over the Schaumburg Boomers at Boomers Stadium Saturday night. Jake Fisher of the ThunderBolts (13-7) and Conrad Wozniak of the Boomers (14-6) were locked up in a pitchers’ duel as neither pitcher gave up a run in the first six innings. Fisher was challenged only once, when the Boomers put a man at third base with one out in the sixth. He got back-to-back groundouts to end the threat. The Bolts finally broke through against the Schaumburg bullpen in the eighth. Will Krug walked and Coco Johnson singled to put runners at the corners. Kyle Wood brought home Krug on a squeeze bunt and Blair Beck tripled home Johnson to give the ThunderBolts a 2-0 lead. Schaumburg tied it up in the bottom of the inning, putting two men on base and chasing Fisher from the contest. Seth Spivey came up with two outs and doubled in both runners to tie the score.
