WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington Wild Things (29-24) ended their five-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a 7-3 win to close out the series, and avoid the sweep, against the Windy City Thunderbolts (30-23). The five-game losing streak was the longest of the season. After managing to score more than two runs just once during the five-game slide, the offense came alive and belted four home runs to back right-handed pitcher Chase Cunningham (7-1) en route to his seventh win of the season, putting him in a four-man tie for the league lead. Fellow Wild Thing Trevor Foss also has seven wins on the season. In the first inning, left fielder Bralin Jackson hit a three-run home run down the left field line off right-handed pitcher Zac Westcott (5-4) that scored centerfielder Rashad Brown and first baseman Kane Sweeney. Third baseman Mike Hill went back to back with Jackson, launching a solo shot to left field to give the Wild Things a 4-0 lead after just one inning.
