TRAVERSE CITY, MI – The Traverse City Beach Bums(9-7) came back from an early three-run deficit to beat the Schaumburg Boomers(11-5), 4-3 in 10 innings. The Boomers got the game started quickly when, with the bases loaded, Sean Godfrey hit an infield RBI single to give them an early 1-0 lead. Kenny Towns followed with an RBI sacrifice fly. In the second, James Keller led off with a solo homer to left, giving Schaumburg a lead of three. From there the Beach Bums pitching staff settled down to give them a chance to come back. Nick Murphy led off the third with a double into left field then moved to third on a Jeff DeBlieux fly out. Arby Fields stepped up and lifted a single into center, scoring Murphy to put the Beach Bums on the board. From there, both teams were scoreless until the seventh. After the stretch, Ginacarlo Brugnoni doubled to center with one out. Murphy followed with a walk then DeBlieux doubled to drive in Brugnoni to bring Traverse City within one.
