TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Tonight’s game between the Traverse City Beach Bums(32-48) and Windy City Thunderbolts(44-38) featured five lead changes, 23 runs, and 28 hits, as the Bums prevailed by a final score of 12-11. Windy City got the offense rolling in the very first inning when Kyle Wood doubled in a run and Tim Zier hit an RBI single. They made it a 3-0 game when Wood hit another RBI double in the second. In the bottom of the second, Arby Fields led off by legging out an infield hit, then Nick Murphy hit a two-run homer, his third of the season, off the top of the wall in left, to pull within one. Corey Bass doubled the Thunderbolts lead in the top of the third with a solo homer but Orlando Rivera led off the bottom of the frame with his first home run of the season, a solo shot, making it a 4-3 Windy City. After a scoreless fourth, Jeff DeBlieux hit a one out single into center.
