TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Due to inclement weather, including lightning, tonight’s game between the Traverse City Beach Bums(27-45) and Lake Erie Crushers(35-38), has been suspended. The game, halted after four innings, will be continued the week of August 22-24, in Avon, OH, with the Crushers leading 1-0. Tomorrow night, the Beach Bums hit the road for another weekend trip to the Windy City to take on the Thunderbolts. Dominic Reed will make his first start for the Beach Bums while Will Landsheft goes for Windy City. First pitch from Standard Bank Stadium in Crestwood, IL, will be at 8:05pm and the voice of the Beach Bums, Tom Willms, will go on the air with the Budweiser pre-game show at 7:45 on 101.9FM- The Bay. When the Beach Bums return to Wuerfel Park on Tuesday, it’s a special doubleheader against the Joliet Slammers. It’s also another Silver Slugger/Thrifty Tuesday! You can eat cheap at the ballpark with a 5 dollar meal deal, including a hot dog or brat, chips, and a soda.
