JULY 16, 2021 TUPPER LAKE, NY – The Empire Baseball League hosted its annual All Star Game and Home Run Derby in which the best of the league come to compete in a derby competition and best of the best game. For the Saranac Lake Surge was former Yankee outfielder Edel Luaces and Brandon Gutzler. However Luaces and Gutzler were knocked out prior to reaching the Semi-Finals. Thunderbirds Outfielder Malvin Matos finished as the Home Run Derby Champion. Saranac Lake Surge will continue play on Monday as they face the New Hampshire Wild in a make up game double header.
