Another Can-Am League alumnus who deserves attention is infielder Peter Mooney (New Jersey ’15) because he is playing regularly only one step below the majors in the Miami Marlins’ organization. In the first seven games of the young 2017 season, while Mooney is only hitting .167 (4-for-24 with a home run), he has been in the lineup regularly at third base and hitting second in the order. His five walks bring his on-base average up to .310 for the New Orleans Baby Cakes.
