JULY 10 EVENING RECAP Photo Courtesy: Torri Koppenaal/Sussex County Miners Sussex County 2, Ottawa 1 – Box Score Sussex County starting pitcher Andrew Vinson (pictured) tossed his second complete game of the season and led the Miners to a 2-1 victory over Ottawa. Vinson was terrific tonight as he gave up only an earned run on seven hits in his 134-pitch outing. The righty struck out seven batters and walked three. With the victory, Vinson is now 5-2 on the season and has allowed only two earned runs in his last 17 innings pitched. Offensively for Sussex County, CF Jayce Ray and 3B Martin Figueroa each had two-hit nights with Ray driving in a run and Figueroa scoring one. Right fielder Rubi Silva plated a run in a 1-for-3 night while 2B Mikey Reynolds hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and give the Miners the lead for good. For Ottawa in the loss, DH Sebastien Boucher went 3-for-4. Trois-Rivieres 10, Quebec 9 – Box Score Trailing 1-0 after two innings of play, Trois-Rivieres took command and outscored Quebec 10-4 in the next three and defeated the Capitales, 10-9.
