The Detroit Tigers have struck twice in recent weeks for players who were in the Can-Am League last season. First, it was Ottawa starter Phillippe Aumont, who had a no-hitter among his five victories in ’17 (5-8, 4.51). Now they have signed a young left-hander, Liarvis Breto (pictured), who spent time with the Rockland Boulders each of the last two summers and has had a strong winter season in Venezuela where as a lefty specialist he was very tough on southpaw hitters.
