THREE-RUN EIGHTH PROVES TO BE THE DIFFERENCE IN QUEBEC’S WIN OVER ROCKLAND

JULY 14 LEAGUE RECAP Quebec 8, Rockland 5 – Box Score Quebec scored three runs in the eighth inning to take an 8-4 lead and that proved to be the difference in the contest as they downed Rockland by the score of 8-5. The Boulders took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run blast from DH Marcus Nidiffer. The Capitales came back and tallied a run in each of the first and second innings to tie the game up at 2-2. Quebec took the lead at 4-2 in the fifth on a SS Jonathan Malo RBI double and a run producing single by 2B TJ White. White then added a solo home run in the seventh to make it 5-2 before Rockland scored a pair in the eighth on a SS JC Rodriguez blast to cut it to 5-4. The Capitales then put the game away for good in the eighth on an RBI single by RF Edgar Lebron and a fielder’s choice. Nidiffer added his second home run of the night in the ninth to round out the scoring for the Boulders. Lebron and McOwen each went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs…
