THREE PITCHERS COMBINE ON FOUR-HIT SHUTOUT IN CUBA VICTORY

June 25 Recap Cuba 3, Rockland 0 – Box Score Starting pitcher Lazaro Blanco and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Cuban National Team defeated Rockland by the score of 3-0. Blanco went the first 6 1/3 innings of the contest allowing only two hits and three walks while striking out three. The bullpen duo of Yudiel Rodriguez and Pedro Jiminez tossed the final 2 2/3 innings and gave up a combined one walk and two hits to go along with two strikeouts. Blanco earned his second victory and Jiminez collected his first save. Offensively for Cuba, 3B Raul Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored while C Frank Morejon added a hit in four at-bats and an RBI. Cuba tallied two runs in the second inning and the other one in the sixth. For Rockland in defeat, C Adam Ehrlich went 2-for-3. …
