SPIVEY’S THREE-RUN BLAST GIVES JACKALS WALK-OFF WIN OVER BOULDERS

JUNE 9 LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: New Jersey Jackals New Jersey 5, Rockland 3 – Box Score Third baseman Seth Spivey (pictured) capped off a four-run ninth inning rally with a three-run home run as New Jersey defeated Rockland in a walk-off, 5-3. The Jackals jumped out in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning as leadoff hitter Connor Hofmann came home on a wild pitch. The Boulders tied the contest at 1-1 in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by LF Kevin Krause. Rockland would then add two more runs in the sixth on an RBI double by DH Conrad Gregor and a 1B Mikael Mogues single. The score would stay that way until the ninth when New Jersey plated four runs including the Spivey blast to win the game in dramatic fashion. Spivey went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI while Hofmann added a pair of hits in four at-bats and plated a run. Jackals pitcher Evan DeLuca tossed a scoreless ninth inning to notch his first victory of the year. DeLuca allowed a hit in the three batters he faced. Sussex County 18, Dominican Republic 2 – Box…
