New Jersey starting pitcher Lee Sosa (pictured) twirled a gem for the Jackals and paved the way for a 3-1 win against the Cuban National Team. Sosa went eight innings without allowing a hit before giving up a walk and a single in the first two at-bats of the ninth. Reliever Jose Jose came on to replace him after that and LF Luis Moiran came around to score on an error. That run was charged to Sosa but his final line was still impressive as he went eight innings and allowed one run on one hit while striking out six batters. Jose earned the save.Elsewhere, Shikoku Island edged Ottawa 4-3 in 11, Quebec beat Trois-Rivieres 4-1 and Rockland won the completion of Tuesday’s game with Sussex County, but the Miners took the night cap.
