The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that New Jersey Jackals RHP Lee Sosa (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 20. Sosa made two starts this week, and threw six shutout innings in each of them. On Tuesday against the Rockland Boulders, Sosa scattered four hits and did not walk a batter, striking out nine in a 7-4 win. He returned to the mound on Sunday to face the Sussex County Miners, and allowed just one hit in his six innings. Sosa walked four and struck out four, paving the way for a 4-0 New Jersey win.
