SHIKOKU’S DAICHI IS REPEAT WINNER FOR PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Thornhill, Ontario — Shikoku Island League Independents RHP Ishi Daichi is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 24-30, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician. It marks the second consecutive week in which Daichi has earned the honor. Daichi threw a seven-inning complete-game shutout against Trois-Rivières Thursday, giving up five hits and fanning 13 in the 2-0 win. Currently, the native of Akita, Japan, is 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 18.1 innings for work. With three games remaining in their tour of Can-Am League cities, Shikoku Island is 7-8. In their previous two visits, the team went 6-10 (2015) and (8-12) 2016.
