SHIKOKU’S DAICHI GETS THE NOD FOR PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Thornhill, Ontario — Shikoku Island League All-Stars RHP Ishi Daichi is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 17-23, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician. Daichi was outstanding in his start Thursday against Rockland, throwing 6.1 shutout innings, striking out seven and picking up the win in his team’s 7-2 victory. At the midway point of their tour through the Can-Am League, the All-Stars have put forward a respectable 4-5 record, including a league-best .312 batting average.
