SEARLE’S STRONG OUTING LIFTS CAPITALES PAST BOULDERS

MAY 30 EVENING RECAP Quebec 3, Rockland 1 – Box Score Quebec starting pitcher Ryan Searle (pictured) turned in another sensational performance in leading the Capitales to a 3-1 win over Rockland. Searle went seven strong innings allowing an earned run (first one of the season) on four hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. The Australian notched the win and is now 2-1 in three starts this year. Offensively for Quebec, four batters had multi-hit games. Leadoff hitter Stephen Gaylor went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI while 3B Brad Antchak had a pair of hits in four at-bats along with scoring a run and driving in one. Center fielder Kalian Sams and LF James McOwen each had 2-for-4 nights at the plate with Sams collecting an RBI. The Capitales tallied all three of their runs in the third on RBI singles by Gaylor and Sams and a double by Antchak. New Jersey 4, Ottawa 2 (Game 2) – Box Score New Jersey scored three runs in the third inning to jump ahead 3-0 and would go on from there to double up Ottawa, 4-2 and gain a split in the day-night twinbill.
