SALAZAR'S GEM PACES BOULDERS IN WIN OVER CAPITALES

The Boulders opened the scoring in the second inning, scoring two runs on a RBI single by DH Joe Bennie and a sacrifice fly by CF Jared McDonald. The Boulders added another run in the fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Capitales added another run back in the fifth, but the Boulders picked up an insurance run in the sixth inning and went on to win 4-1. Bennie finished 1-3 with an RBI in the loss. McDonald was 1-3 with two RBIs in the victory. LHP Richard Salazar (pictured) earned the victory, pitching seven innings, allowing a run on nine hits, and striking out six.In other news, New Jersey beat Trois-Rivieres 19-5 and Sussex County defeated Ottawa 12-2.
