ROLLINS, MINERS DEFEAT BOULDERS IN GAME ONE OF TWINBILL

JULY 25 AFTERNOON LEAGUE RECAP Sussex County 1, Rockland 0 (Game 1 – 7 Innings) – Box Score The Sussex County Miners won their eighth consecutive contest as they defeated Rockland 1-0 in game one of a doubleheader. This game featured a terrific pitcher’s duel between the two starters, David Rollins (pictured) of Sussex County and the Boulders Justin Brantley. Rollins tossed six shutout innings allowing a pair of walks and seven hits while striking out six batters. Brantley, on the other hand, went the distance giving up unearned run on two hits with seven strikeouts. The lefty Rollins notched the win and improved his mark to 8-1 on the season. The only run of the contest came in the first inning when Miners leadoff hitter Connor Crane came home on a passed ball by Rockland C Jason Agresti. Crane finished 1-for-3. For the Boulders, RF Conor Bierfeldt, 3B Cody Regis and 2B Jared McDonald each chipped in two hits.   Fans can watch all Can-Am League games live and for free at www.canamleague.tv.
