PINEYRO TOSSES ONE-HITTER IN WIN OVER OTTAWA

A sensational pitching performance by Sussex County starter Ivan Pineyro (pictured) leads the Miners to a 2-0 win over the Ottawa Champions in the regularly scheduled game. Pineyro notched his first win with Sussex County as he tossed a 69-pitch (51 strikes) complete game shutout allowing only one hit while striking out two batters. In other games in the Can-Am, Quebec shutout New Jersey, 4-0, Rockland swept Trois-Rivieres in a doubleheader [G1 – 6-4 (8 innings) & G2 – 4-1] and Ottawa edged Sussex County, 6-5 in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday.
